There’s no doubt that the mobile industry is at a tipping point. The sudden and explosive growth of mobile data is well documented and recent figures from Informa Telecoms & Media reveal that global data traffic actually surpassed voice during the December of 2009.

As a result, the networks are creaking under the strain and operator business models are in dire need of an overhaul to make the most of this opportunity. With these issues in mind, eyes are looking to the future and to the promise of LTE in particular.

At the recently held LTE World Summit in Amsterdam, we gathered insights from several experts:

  • - Tommy Ljunggren, SVP and Head of System Development, Mobility Services at TeliaSonera, the Nordic operator which has been very much in the limelight of late, having recently launched commercial LTE networks in Stockholm and Gotherburg in Sweden and Oslo in Norway.

  • - Stephen J Bye, Vice President of Wireless at US cable carrier Cox Communications, which is planning to use LTE to complement its existing fixed line bundles.

  • - Informa Telecoms & Media Principal Analyst Thomas Wehmeier on the state of the LTE ecosystem

You will also hear from Humberto La Roche, Director for Wireless Architecture at Juniper Networks (the sponsors of this webcast), on important architectural considerations for the Evolved Packet Core.
