The demand for new telecom offerings and services is becoming ever more increasing and complex, creating challenges and opportunities for telecommunications operators world-wide. There is a plethora of devices, tariff plans and multi-media content, with associated service bundles, which the consumer and business has to choose from. It is a business priority for telco’s to deliver the competitive edge when it comes to the user experience and hybris can help telco’s meet these challenges by delivering the capabilities needed to be successful.

        Hi Constance,

localization is an important part of any e-commerce offering. Of course your site needs to support local languages, but also payment methods (see previous question) or shipping carriers.
Besides that it’s just as important that the internal tools used by a telco’s business users are localized too.

hybris supports a wide range of languages and localization options already out of the box (including Chinese and Japanese) and can be localized to any language on the frontend as well.

Being able to set up an online shopfront is only one part of the equation; the other is integration with payment-processing centres. How does your solution enable customers here to interlink with various clearing houses to enable online payment?

        Hi Constance,

yes, payment is an important part of a transaction. Especially for the initial purchase of a device. hybris integrates with over 30 payment systems in a safe and secure way. This variety is needed because payment methods are very much a local business in every country. E.g. credit cards are not popular everywhere so other payment methods like direct debit, wire transfer, cash on delivery or even pay on the mobile are important in order to reach a wide customer audience.

Hi what are the typical challenges of Telco and how can hybris help?

The online channel is becoming a key influencing factor for customer’s purchase decisions. So being there and integrating an e-commerce channel with traditional sales channels is a key way hybris can help telco operators.
